Our Men’s 1st team travel to Coventry and the Alan Higgs Centre for their final round of matches in Division One of the British Water Polo League, it’s been a tough season competing against the best sides in the country and the team has come up short this time around.
With games against London League Premier Div rivals West London Penguin on Saturday & City of Manchester on Sunday, Head Coach Edi Brkovic will be looking to finish the season on a high with a good performance before the BWPL Winter break.
Our Men’s 2nd team are also in action up in Bolton at the Sir Jason Kenny Leisure Centre as they finish their National Conference Water Polo League Div One campaign with three matches.
The team currently sits third in Div One having won three out of four matches played. With games against Coventry & Scottish side Caledonia Storm on Saturday & British Army on Sunday morning, Coach Paul Dix will be motivated to push the team on and claim at least one more win to secure their place in NCWPL Championship One for the second half of the season.
Our Junior U18 Boys side are also in action this weekend when they travel to Northampton for their next round of NCWPL Junior matches with two games on Saturday against Winchester & Coventry.
The team are currently joint third in the table after two matches and coach Lottie Winstanley will be looking to get her coaching career off to a flying start and bag two wins which would see the Boys jump up the table and into the top four places which is critical for the end of season play-offs. With four games to go in early New Year the team will be well positioned for a final push.
Our Junior U18 Girls team will also be back in action this weekend when they make the long trip to Manchester for two games, the first on Saturday is against London Side Otter at the East Manchester Leisure Centre then on Sunday morning the action switches over to the Manchester Aquatic Centre to face hosts Manchester, it will be a tough test for our young side but coach Andy Holt will be looking to get some points on the board.
Also, on Saturday a club delegation of Adam Page, Steve Chambers, Mark Baker & Alun Dorrington will be heading to Birmingham University and the Great Hall for the Swim England Nationals Awards.
With the Club having won “East Region Club of the Year” and Adam Page winning “East Region Development Coach of the Year” we are now into the National Finals and will be consider against Six other Club sides from around the Country to be consider overall “Water Polo Club of the Year”.
Adam will be up against Six other Water Polo coaches from across the country to find out the overall winner of “Water Polo Development Coach of the Year”.
