Having made the final four after a seven game run in the NCWPL that saw the team finish fourth they were drawn against City of Manchester in the semi-finals.
The team beat Manchester in the Semi-final 10-8 having won the opening quarter 5-2. The game settled down as the second & third quarters were drawn 2-2 for Watford to lead 9-6 going in the last period.
Our U18's held on to close out the game and move into the Final alongside Worthing.
The game began with Worthing establishing a 3-0 lead early in the 1st Qtr before we pulled a goal back but the South Coast side scored again before the Qtr closed for a 4-1 lead.
Coach Paul Dix then got to work to settle his side with some encouraging words and it did the trick as Watford came out fighting for the second quarter.
Goals from Capt Aksel Gerhardstein & Ed Carpenter pulled the team back to 4-3 but Worthing scored again for 5-3 before Bailey Sapsed moved the score to 5-4.
Worthing then scored again but goals from Dusan Crompton, Sapsed & Niko Obradovic had Watford in front for the first time in the match at 7-6 as half-time was reached.
The third period saw Worthing level at 7-7 & 8-8 before another Aksel goal had as leading by one going into the final period at 9-8.
The final eight minutes was going to be tense but the team calmed the spectators nerves as they established a Six goal margin at 15-9 thanks to efforts from Dusan, Aksel, a double from Carpenter and a double from Bertie Dix.
The final minute was ran down as Watford held possession and closed the game out to be Crowned NCWPL Champions.
